I left blue skied, sunny Chesapeake heading north east towards the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. One of my favorite spots, First Landing State Park. As I'm approaching the skies are getting darker, lighting is flashing in the distance and then the rain starts. And doesn't stop until the parking lot is literally flooded. I'll be honest, I was quite enjoying my coffee, sans kids, music in the background and pinterst on my phone. I felt terrible for Koryn though. Hubby is out to sea with the Navy, she is due any day, and we have no other days that we can reschedule! But I give her mad credit. She toughed it out! As soon as we saw a break in the clouds we went for it. It is so true, after every storm the sun shines. It gives the most beautiful colors! It cut the nearly 100 degree heat down significantly. And we even got a lucky shot with lighting! (eeek) Mr. Neil sure did love running up and down the beach, splashing in the water. Really, is there a better picture then a happy child playing on the beach? I can't wait to meet little Chandler any day! And I really can't wait for your family to be reunited again. I sure hope these pictures bring Freddie some happiness. Thank you for your service and sacrifice Schmidt Family!!
